Senios Women’s One Day Trophy: Neelam Bhardwaj of Uttarakhand has become the youngest Indian woman batsman to score a double century in a List-A match. He has achieved this feat at just 18 years of age. In the Senior Women’s ODI Trophy match played in Ahmedabad, Uttarakhand defeated Nagaland by a huge margin of 259 runs. In this encounter, Neelam Bhardwaj has played an innings of 202 runs in just 137 balls. He also hit 27 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.
In this match, Uttarakhand, playing first, had scored 371 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Neelam came to bat in the 11th over of the innings, when Raghavi Bisht was out after scoring 17 runs. From here, a storm named Neelam had ruined the bowling attack of Nagaland. He first made a partnership of 116 runs with Nandini Kashyap, who contributed 81 runs. After that Neelam along with Kanchan Parihar made an unbeaten partnership of 219 runs.
In the same year, Shweta Sehrawat became the first Indian woman player to score a double century for India in List A matches. He played an inning of 242 runs in 150 balls. Thanks to his innings, Delhi had scored a huge score of 455 runs. Delhi won that match from Nagaland by a margin of 400 runs. This time Uttarakhand has defeated Nagaland by 259 runs. Whenever there is talk of double century in limited overs cricket, then the attention goes towards Rohit Sharma, who has scored 3 double centuries in ODI cricket.
Not only Neelam Bhardwaj shone for Uttarakhand in this match, apart from her, captain Ekta Bisht also performed brilliantly in bowling. He made 5 maidens in his 10 over spell and took 5 wickets while conceding only 14 runs. With this win, Uttarakhand has moved to second position in Group B with 12 points, on the other hand, Nagaland has lost all four of its matches and is at the last position in the group.
